Meet Teddy and Bwalya, two remarkable young boys aged 12 and 13 respectively, who arrived at our school’s doorstep in June. They came seeking an opportunity that many take for granted – the chance to receive an education.

Facing financial hardships, Teddy and Bwalya couldn’t afford the fees required to attend school. Undeterred by their circumstances, they were determined to acquire an education that would shape their future. Their unwavering commitment was evident when they expressed their willingness to work in exchange for the education they so desperately sought.

In the face of their determination, Hendrix, founder of BAREMI, Inc., heard their story and recognized the potential within these young men. Believing in the power of education to transform lives, Hendrix sought out sponsors who could provide Teddy and Bwalya with the needed opportunity for free education and nourishing meals.

Teddy and Bwalya’s journey is a living example of how education is more than just a path to knowledge; it is a bridge to a better future. As they flourish academically, they also break the cycle of poverty that once bound them. Their success will reverberate through their families, their community, and beyond, helping to construct a stronger foundation for Zambia’s future.
